Hotel Miramar

Decent family hotel but NOT...

Liked: Rooms: I had a sea view room: good double bed, good bathroom (looks recently renovated), two club chairs in front of the window. Lift for higher floors. Location: next to the beach and close to town. Staff: very friendly. Parking: plenty of spaces (including 2 for EV charging) but for Booking.com reservations you pay £15 per night. Food: decent restaurant with nice menu, good breakfast with warm options (but sometimes at extra cost, as well as specialty coffees or teas).
Disliked: Room: the room was equipped with an AC unit in the ceiling, but this was broken down and could not be repaired during my stay. Since the room is under the roof, and there was a heat wave going on (+30°C), it was a boiler oven at night, very uncomfortable. The provided fan did not provide any solution, since you can only open up one small window. I hardly got any sleep done over the 2 nights I stayed, and left exhausted. I did receive my breakfast refunded in return, but had to hint for a compensation myself. There are no power plugs next to or near the bed, I had to request an extension cord.

Beautiful hotel and location perfect!

Liked: Location, gardens and parking.
Disliked: Big BUT here, no air con in our room or fan, hottest day of the year and my daughter and I didn't sleep AT ALL as it felt like we were in a sauna and actually ended up feeling really ill. Would definitely advise others making sure they have a room with air con if booking in the summer!
