Liked: Nice comfy bed with big beautiful window. Says not on Riverwalk but it?s basically right on it. Very reasonable price for the location and room.
Disliked: No hotel parking, no fridge and no bathtub

Kooky old hotel with a...
Liked: Great location for a cool and historical old hotel. The staff were very nice and welcoming, with great friendly attitudes. Breakfast buffet was plentiful with perfectly crisped bacon. Large bed was comfortable, and products in the shower were good quality.
Disliked: The air conditioning in my room was both very loud and somewhat ineffective! It wasn't a big deal, though - the room was cool enough even in the baking heat. The layout of the room is kind of awkward - I feel like they could benefit from getting an interior designer in to figure out how to make better use of the space. The person checking me in made a mistake while taking my card to put the damage deposit on hold and I ended up with multiple charges for extremely random-appearing amounts to my card - ranging from $188 to $1,122. When I brought this to the attention of the reception, they were extremely apologetic, and rectified the situation immediately.

Liked: The initial clerk we encountered was great. The room itself looked nice.
Disliked: The clerk that works the evening shift was rude. The room was missing a refrigerator and a phone. The temperatures were over 100 degrees. There was nothing but a hole where the refrigerator was supposed to be located. We asked the evening clerk about getting a refrigerator and an extra blanket in case we got cold overnight. He proceeded to educate us about duvets. He seemed very irritated. This place is not inexpensive. The hotel is currently being renovated which we did not know. The lobby furniture looks dirty and old. So we checked out the same day we checked into the hotel. We found a hotel not far from their location and received a very warm welcome. They gave us a bottle of wine and free cocktails. It was our anniversary and we refuse to let this incident ruin our visit to San Antonio.
