Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays

I really feel that this was not good value for money and yet it could be brilliant in such a great location.

Liked: The receptionist was helpful.
Disliked: The lift didn't work; the door buzzer didn't work when I returned soaking wet at 10-30.

Liked: Location is superb. You can get a 10% reduction at nearby bars and restaurants if you say you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express. The staff were very good when handling the numerous complaints they received following the loss of hot water.
Disliked: There was no hot water in the room. Was told that it would be fixed when a handyman could go up on the roof to fix. The sofa bed had been put up which we did not need. It took us sometime to work out how to close it. The "hot" breakfast was in tepid containers, which meant it looked very unappetising. We settled for toast and a cake TV did not work, we were offered a £10 reduction on the room.

3 hrs sleep

Disliked: Awoken at 03:00 from the noise outside - Students having come out of the Nightclub - Also awaken at 07:00 bu setting up the VE 80 th Celebrations outside our room.

Liked: Good breakfast , very busy on the day but the staff kept the restaurant clean and tidy
Disliked: Shower was very hit and miss , cold water then scolding hot water
