Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Clearwater US 19 North by IHG

When we returned to room following concert, we found the toilet leaking. This was noticed by the sound of water flowing upon flushing and the 1/2 inch water buildup beneath the toilet tank. Reported immediately to the front desk. They sent a young woman to investigate. She mopped the floor with towels and the front desk assured me that they would keep the floor dry through the night. They said they could provide another room if I wanted to move. Considering that we'd be using the toilet a few times through the night and morning, we opted to move. This was all at approximately 12 midnight. Second room was fine but on a noisy corner. Asked for an adjustment to our bill at checkout and was told that we had received a discounted rate on booking and that the hotel could do nothing as they hadn't yet been paid. All in all, a bad experience with no adjustment at all for the inconvenience of having to move everything to a new room at midnight.

Liked: The check-in staff were very pleasant.
Disliked: At 11:30 p.m, Friday night our door was as opened by a key. My husband asked if the room was double booked. He was told no. The front desk personnel were very apologetic that night. Upon checking out we had a conversation with the manager on duty. She attempted to come up with many excuses one of which being, it could have been maintenance. Maintenance at 1130 at night and you don’t inform your customer? Her response and lack of engagement was very dismissive of the situation. Very disappointing and disturbing.
