Liked: An older hotel but you cannot beat the location and free parking. Within walking distance the major hollywood sites and if not you can take the metro at Hollywood and Highland to Universal Studios or downtown. Very convenient and cheaper and easier than driving. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and it was huge!
Disliked: Definitely need some newer carpet and everything was just a little shabby, but clean. The kitchenette was great but the toaster was broke, there was no towels or soap to wash dishes.

Liked: The view. The garden
Disliked: Remote control did not have batteries. There were not enough plugs to charge multiple devices. Hot water for only 5 minutes

Liked: Location and space of the room
Disliked: Older buildings, the window wouldn't close in one room. We stayed 5 days and 2 days they didn't clean the room. When we arrived we were checked into a room without a working air conditioner and not the room we booked. No towels or soap to wash dishes in the kitchen.

Liked: The location was great. Just a short 5 minute walk to walk of fame and shopping. The staff was great and helped us out with finding good restaurants and when we needed to book another night.
Disliked: The room was not clean and we stayed in a room with pentry. The refrigerator made a lot of noise and there was an awful smell when opening it with mould inside. I had to take two cold showers since there were no hot water in the afternoon. The bed I stayed in made a lot of noise and had a very old and tired madrass. The managers in the morning face the breakfast room and they stood and argued openly in front of the customers. The hotel charges way too much!

Liked: Located a block from Hollywood and 200 feet from The Magic Castle... The room was nice to look at with new drapes and new carpeting. Nice flat screen TV with easy to use remote. Two very large closets in room 103.
A very large counter in the closet area with large mirror but sadly, no electrical outlet. Four pillows on each bed were wonderful !! Lovely lobby area and they have a beautiful pool with tropical plants
Disliked: Mattress was very poor quality and my back hurt the next morning and consecutive mornings. The little kitchen included was from the 1940s. There are virtually two outlets in the whole room and not convenient to plug-in your curling iron and other electronics such as your phone in any convenient location. I would highly recommend bringing along a 20 foot extension cord. No hook in the bathroom to hang anything. Faces street with lots of traffic but personally I don't mind it myself but others might.
