Beautiful, idyllic, English country side...

Liked: The room was immaculate and well kept. We were able to check in early and the room was spacious, well equipped and comfy. The location was perfectly in between Matlock and Matlock Bath and the walk to each was pleasant and only 10 mins max in each direction. Both Matlock and Matlock Bath offer different experience’s so it is worth visiting both. The staff were lovely, informative and not only allowed us to check in early, they allowed us to leave our car in the car park after check out whilst we went shopping. The hotel was fantastic value for money and we will certainly stay here again.

Liked: Great location. Walking distance to lovely views, good places to eat. We were there to walk locally and it was good for that
Disliked: The room was restricted in height as it was in the roof. Made getting in and out of bed difficult on one side. Not enough storage in the bathroom, a shelf would be great!

Location drastically let down by...

Disliked: Shocking service from staff, apart from the helpful lady who reconfigured our room as it was not set up properly.

Liked: Party of 10 , 6 adults , 4 children - we stayed one night to celebrate Nanna’s 60th Birthday - staff were very obliging We did not dine in the hotel due to pre arranged venue with family . Location close to Matlock Town and Matlock Bath - Abraham Heights
Disliked: Rooms were very warm ( can’t help the weather ! )Fans were provided in each room No air conditioning……..but we expected that as property was not modern

Disappointed overall though accept we...

Liked: Location good. Room was very clean, large bed, great shower and really nice towels
Disliked: Small room with limited storage, stayed 2 nights but room disappointingly not serviced in between days. Had to ring to get new supply of milk/tea/coffee as reception mainly unmanned. Would benefit from shelf in bathroom. Fire escape on second floor was compromised but staff did put this right as soon as I reported it

Restful

Liked: The location and excellent breakfast. Staff were lovely and a nice bar area.
Disliked: Only slight criticism is that a left luggage would have been good. When we turned up about 45 minutes early no one was there to help. However appreciate he was on his own that day so may have been a one off.
