Bad management

Liked: Clean, good location, comfortable bed.
Disliked: Room very basic. Further, to be clear, I did not choose the additional option to pay for breakfast when booking. This was confirmed when we checked in that we had not ordered and paid for breakfast. That fact is agreed. After checking in, within minutes I returned to reception to request an iron. At this time, I was advised by the same lady that had checked me in that breakfast was now included for us and that all I to do was call at reception the following morning and collect our voucher. I said this was very kind of her and a nice unexpected gesture. Unfortunately, the following morning when we went to reception to collect the voucher, we were told breakfast was not included with our booking, I confirmed that was the case but explained what I had been told by the receptionist the evening before. The supervisor was called and I was made to feel like I was lying. I was told that I must be wrong. There was nothing on their system. The breakfast was neither here nor there to be honest. Rather how we were treated. It?s simple, don?t offer something that wasn?t necessary and then fail to deliver. Until this point, our stay had been a positive experience and as a regular business traveller to London, I had thought I?d found a good place to stay. You set an unnecessary expectation and then failed to meet it. The staff we condescending and dealt with the situation badly. The only explanation given was that the receptionist was new. I appreciate that hotels in London are always busy and so perhaps retention of future customers is not a priority but there is also a lot of competition and I for one will not be a returning. The worst customer service experience I have had in a long time.

Really close and accessible with...

Liked: Really close to Euston Station and on top of Euston Square Tube Station. The hotel had free wifi which was easy to access. The room was modern; although small, it was fine for my stay.
