Ettington Park Hotel Stratford-upon-Avon, Alderminster

A little bit disappointing

Liked: Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds, nice rooms. Staff are amazing especially Christopher.
Disliked: We had to change rooms, air con broken, heating left on full, attention to detail was not great. There was a big party of 50 who seemed to be a priority. We were told to order our food in the main restaurant before 7.30 due to the large group ordering at the same time. Expected better for the extortionate price of £1,800 (two rooms, two nights) Breakfast was OK but the toast was cold and on the second morning they forgot the spinach.

Beautiful venue to celebrate our...

Liked: Great location, a truly beautiful stunning hotel, full of history / charm, every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure our visit was perfect for our wedding anniversary celebrations! A good range of food for breakfast, really flavoursome and filling for the day ahead. The restaurant evening food was delicious too! Swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi facilities were lovely to use. Our room was beautiful, spacious and replenished daily. Good size car park and if you are lucky, like we were, you might see some deer! Overall, we are thrilled we chose this gorgeous hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend and would love to return in the future. Thank you Ettington Park Hotel, you have created some brilliant memories for us which we will greatly treasure.
Disliked: Everything was great for us! Nothing we did not like.

Liked: wonderful welcome and service from all the staff at the hotel. beautiful country estate, the mansion house was beautiful and the gardens were spectacular. the vegetarian breakfast was delicious.

A stately country hotel with...

Liked: A beautiful hotel, set in lovely countryside. Dog friendly with good facilities for dogs. Very high quality food - congratulations to the chef.
Disliked: Our room was in annex (due to dog) and the furnishings were a little tired. The service was pretty poor at the restaurant. Staff need more training as every table was showing frustration (for example that main courses arrived before wine did!

Liked: Excellent food and service was brilliant

Decent. Beautiful at times. But...

Liked: The exterior of the hotel is gorgeous as are the grounds. The interior is also quite nice. Some things are tired, but others are really impressive (like the moulding in the dining room). Most of the staff was attentive and friendly.
Disliked: The food was lacklustre, definitely poor value for the type of venue. Especially considering the high quality offerings of nearby pubs and restaurants. Also, it was a shame that they use fake plants/flowers inside considering how beautiful the grounds are. In some ways, it just didn’t feel like a well oiled machine. The staff were friendly, but at times slow or forgetful. They advertise as a dog-friendly hotel, but don’t have dog cleaning facilities. The maps of the walks are outdated.

Wonderfully attentive staff. Great breakfast...

Liked: The staff are wonderful, caring and very friendly - they can't do enough to make sure that your stay is comfortable! It is clear that everyone is happy and enjoys their jobs. We enjoyed a really good dinner here and breakfasts were also really very good indeed. I wanted to upgrade to a better room and was shown a variety of rooms by the patient front desk lady - I would definitely recommend going for a larger suite/feature room, well worth it - gorgeous bathroom and comfortable bed with all in mini bar bits - if you are staying here it will really make all the difference. The spa swimming pool was small but lovely and clean and relaxing and the steam room hot.
Disliked: The original room booked was an economy room and small and a little on the dark side - definitely go for a larger room if booking
