Disliked: When I arrived at the Embassy Suites by the Galleria in Dallas, TX, I was surprised to find it in the midst of construction, something I hadn't been told about beforehand. The noise from the construction made it hard to relax, and to top it off, both the pool and gym were out of order, which was a major letdown.Inside the room, things didn't get much better. The carpet looked tired and worn, and the bathroom's electrical outlet didn't work. Plus, there was no hair dryer in sight, and the replacement they provided only blew cold air. I ended up having to do my hair in the kitchenette area.The room itself didn't feel fresh or inviting at all. It seemed like it hadn't been cared for properly, and to make matters worse, the TV kept cutting out.Overall, my stay at left A LOT to be desired. Between the construction, maintenance issues, and lack of amenities, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Liked: The pool was nice. I like that it only went up to 4ft deep. It made it great for kids. Overall appearance upon entering the hotel was nice.
Disliked: They have a large private parking lot and still charge you $15 a night to park. This was not clear when I booked, and is just plain greed. The food at this location was subpar, I literally spit food out twice. Their only saving grace was the gentleman cooking on the grill. Unfortunately, they only had one employee working the grill and a very long line waiting for food. Our room had a strong odor of old cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. The hotel was under construction and this should have been noted at time of booking. I have stayed at other locations of this hotel in the Dallas area and had a much better experience.

Overall our stay was good!

Liked: The peaceful scenery inside the lobby and the comfortable beds!!
Disliked: The elevators were down and we had to take the stairs.

Liked: The location was very good for us. The food was excellent and the customer service as well.
Disliked: Issues with the microwave and young kids knocking on our door late at night.

Liked: It was comfortable and quiet. Staff was nice especially the bartender. Very friendly and easy to talk to.
Disliked: I called in the morning to request an early check-in. I was told everything was set up and ready to go for early check-in. I got to the hotel and was told no rooms were available. We were accommodated but had to change our room. The room smelled musty and not pleasant.
