Good overnight stay.

Liked: Beautifully decorated and kitted out bathroom with a superb shower. The rest of the room was nice but not to the same standard of decoration. Large hanging TV made reaching the blind chord behind it, very tricky. Bed was reasonably comfortable but I have stayed in hotels with better mattresses for the price. Good WiFi. Lots of nice touches in terms of coffee tray and bathroom amenities.
Disliked: Car park is small so difficult to find a parking space.

Superb

Liked: Quiet comfortable room with large bathroom. Great breakfasts and helpful staff

good room, bad breakfast

Liked: room was fine, clean and comfortable and quiet.
Disliked: the breakfast, which I had to pay for separately, was really bad value for money. I have never been anywhere where you had to ask for something to put on the toast. no muesli.

Fantastic value for money

Liked: Fantastic value for money. Ideal location for the venue we were at.
Disliked: Slowness to be served in the restaurant and breakfast to be brought out.

Passable

Liked: Bed was very comfortable. Outside rear garden looked lovely
Disliked: NO usb points in bedrooms! This is really unacceptable as they are so easy and in expensive to fit. The whole interior could do with a good clean, curtains and blinds fixed and fresh lick of paint.

Disappointing - be careful

Liked: Staff are very friendly and efficient. Pleasant "shabby chic" decor throughout. Parking good. Pretty location.
Disliked: Did not get a restful night's sleep at all. Pillows provided are flat and inadequate for purpose - bring your own if you want to be comfortable. Was woken to hammering and sawing at 8am on a bank holiday from work being done downstairs - unbelievable that the hotel thought this was OK to authorise this. Also, the nearby church rings out the hour even at 3am. Hotel can't control this, but could provide a warning and offer or recommend earplugs (as I have seen other hotels do). Huge torn hole in Room 6 curtains too. Raised all of this with them and they did give a partial refund, which was fair, but really, if you expect a good night's sleep at The Elephant, get some guarantees about noise and comfort first before paying anything.

Good, I would put more,...

Liked: The friendlyness, the cleanlyness and the overall decor.
Disliked: The food portions were very small, I guess that would be nouvelle cuisine, little food for a lot in the hotel restaurant.
