Econo Lodge Downtown

Very dated and in dire need of renovations. Stains on the carpet and ceilings that looked like blood and even flesh hanging from it. Gross.

Liked: The staff.
Disliked: The cleanliness.

Passable

Liked: Relatively cheap. Good enough location, especially if you're taking public transit.
Disliked: I stayed here a week before and the room they gave me was nice. I needed a room for a night before travelling to Quebec so I booked here again. Unfortunately, the room given to me, while it looked clean wasn't really clean. There were small cockroaches which I had to swat. Didn't really sleep well because I was very concerned about cockroaches crawling on me.

Quick one night stay in...

Liked: Room was as seen on pictures. To be honest, I was scared that there might be bed bugs as I read other's experience. Thankfully, there was none. And the room was actually quite clean. I like taking public transpo, so it was great that the hotel was a few steps away from a bus stop.
Disliked: I sometimes hear footsteps from the upper floor, although it wasn't that bad as I still was able to sleep.

Will not return

Liked: What Breakfast?
Disliked: This place should not be advertising free breakfast. A brown bag with kids sized snacks is not a breakfast. The only thing hot was the coffee and or tea (assuming since I drink neither)Also the parking lot is a gong show with people parking wherever/however because the painted lines are almost non existent. As a paying guest, shouldn't have to park off to the side in the dirt/mud lot.

Disappointing

Liked: Clean bedding and somewhere clean bathroom! Everything else is pretty bad

The robbery experience ruined it...

Liked: It was neat and organized
Disliked: One of my colleagues car got robbed in the park and the staff on duty showed no empathy

Liked: It was a descent and comfortable room I loved the bed and slept incredibly especially with all the pillows
Disliked: Internet only worked on my phone and tv was not a smart tv so I had to watch movies and shows on my phone for 5 days as my laptop or my Playstation would not work in the room. This was deal breaker for me to return unfortunately
