Liked: Great Breakfast. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Lovely bathroom.
Disliked: Only issue was a slightly noisy air conditioning unit

Liked: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location, very near the hustle and bustle but tucked away on a peaceful street. The bar area is very nice.
Disliked: Amenities in the room could be a bit better such as a suitable plug for charging your phone near the bed, bathroom supplies such as a shower cap, cotton wool pads etc.

The people make the place...

Liked: I felt safe there. The people were so kind. Many people that worked there became my friends. I look forward to staying in touch them. While in Scotland it became my home base. It was close to the centre but off from the main tourist areas. You could have a quiet night in or go out close by. It was closed to St. James Square mall and off Princes Street which is the main part of the new city with plenty of boutiques, restaurants and bars. It is also close to the Royal Mile. Calden Hill is down the street and the top has the great views of the city. It’s also close to the train station.
Disliked: The menu could be expanded a little.

Liked: The breakfast was very good, the hotel looked very clean and well presented
Disliked: I have to say the hotel was great in every way and my room was clean and had good amenities. But the bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on

Liked: Property is in a nice location, rooms are ok and clean, price is very good for Edinburgh.
Disliked: The property advertise a 24/7 in room dining service - I tried to call and was told that the kitchen was closed and I couldn’t order any food, when I asked why they advertise the in room dining I wasn’t given a proper answer. When I asked reception the day after they told me they “understood my frustration and will escalate with management”. I’ve seen many old reviews complaining about this too, I just think this hotel has never offered in room dining. The tv was quite old but the staff said I could connect to chromecast, which actually didn’t work (as I think the TV was too old to support but they wanted to add as a service anyway).
