Condor Hotel by LuxUrban

We stayed here after finding it on the map - showing a close proximity to the Barclays Center. Never again, for the money - I'll stay in Manhattan and commute. The staff was friendly, but it just seemed really shady here. Breakfast was absolutely terrible.

Liked: Friendly staff.
Disliked: Short blankets; TV channels missing volume; strange neighbors; no security; not enough towels; terrible breakfast; rollaway bed was old.

We over paid for a...

Liked: Nothing. It is called Aura Hotel now. It just changed hands a week prior to our stay. The guy said we were lucky because our card had been charged a week ago and he honored our stay. Shady.
Disliked: Poor service.

Exceptional

Good value accommodations on the...

Liked: The lobby is very welcoming (and calming after being out in the city), and there's a lounge and garden area for seating on the first floor. The room had everything we needed and it was nice having a kitchenette. The staff was responsive when we had some issues with the room key and elevator. The location was fine in terms of getting to everything we wanted to see, using a mix of walking, rideshare, and public transportation. (Be prepared to walk a few extra blocks for breakfast on Saturday morning since several of the places closest to the hotel are closed for the Sabbath.) Nice pillows, plenty of outlets including USB charging ports.
Disliked: The facility had some tech/equipment issues throughout the weekend, but it was clear they were trying to resolve them quickly. The bed squeaks a bit, so if you toss and turn be prepared for that. For the price point, I have no real complaints about the room itself.

Disliked: Lift was broken and had to carry heavy case up 3 flights

Liked: I emailed the hotel manager about a few issues with the room and never received a response.

Liked: Staff was friendly
Disliked: Elevator was broken. TV didn’t work. No phone service. No Ice. I was on crutches and had to crutch up two flights of stairs

Dissapointed

Liked: Beds were comfy. Nice and clean rooms but a weird spot for a hotel
Disliked: - Came for check in at the advertised hour and was told that it wouldn’t be ready for a further hour and a half (after coming in early to check it’d be okay, dropping off bags and boomeranging back for advertised hour)- toilet flat out didn’t work- elevator didn’t work
