Liked: Clean, comfortable, offered free parking, close to Metro, free breakfast, and a variety of restaurants nearby.
Disliked: Only thing missing was a pool.

Liked: The staff was nice and they cancelled our reservation without penalty
Disliked: At first, it seemed fine and it looked to be a decent, value, no frills hotel. I chose it for it's proximity to GMU where I had a conference and because it had free parking. When I first checked in, the staff was nice and the hotel seemed ok but not as clean as many reviews stated. The rooms smelled musty and did not look very clean. About an hour later, as I sat there chatting with my colleague, a huge cockroach ran across the room and over her foot! We both screamed bloody murder and called reception, who were very blasť about it and sent up someone with EXTRA TOWELS! By this time we had trapped the roach under a trash can and we asked to move to a new room, which they begrudgingly moved us to. What if we hadn't seen the roach running around and it had climbed on us at night? We are not faint hearted people, but this is downright disgusting. We went downstairs to speak to someone and the night shift has just begun (this was 10 pm) and the guy at reception was extremely uncaring. " Oh there was a huge roach, oh, sorry. So you are asking us to move you to a new room?". We moved to a new room right across and we kept hearing the sounds of insects in the tiled ceiling and we knew that we would never sleep. The best thing I can say about the staff is that when we went back downstairs, all packed, they saw how uncomfortable we were and cancelled our 2 night reservation without much fuss. We were not charged for anything and we then had to go look for a room at another hotel at midnight. Luckily we found one closer to GMU that had a better rate (even including valet parking)and was heavenly. This may have been a fluke, but the hotel is old and not really clean, and while the staff was nice and polite, their response to a customer issue like this was not acceptable.

Great way to see Arlington...
Liked: This Comfort Inn is great place to park your car and then go on to use the metro into Washington DC.
It was clean, staff were super friendly and helpful....was cool in the heat. Was quiet.
Disliked: Please stop using paper plates and plastic knives and forks for breakfast. Comfort Inn...think of the environment!

I was in D.C. for...
Liked: The waffle maker, the beds, walking access to the metro but supplied a shuttle to the station if needed, very friendly staff.
Disliked: The buffet breakfast was a 4 star. To make it a 5 star:. Add a staff person to make fresh omlets with ingredient choices like onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc. And a few more coffee choices. They only had regular or decaffeinated. Alongside these, add choices about creamers, especially hazelnut or dark chocolate so we can make our own mochas. If I was in charge, I would also add a light make-it-yourself sandwich & soup bar for when you come back tired and just want an easy and light dinner. There could be a small charge. It could include salad and/or fruit. Once it gets around that this is a regular at all Comfort Inns, I predict your stay percentage will rise steadily.
