Centerstone Plaza Hotel Soldiers Field - Mayo Clinic Area

Started out bad but ended...

Liked: Breakfast fine. So many disposables and plastic though. Staff was great at desk and rebooked me to another room at my request even though they were almost full.
Disliked: I started in a suite with kitchen but immediately on entering the room I could smell cooking smoke and soon after my eyes were watering. Everything else was clean in the room but it was environmentally irritating. Happily staff found me a room in the hotel itself which was just fine.

Great value, would stay here...

Liked: Loved the front desk staff and great location, easy parking, terrific restaurant as well. Clean and safe. The Murphy bed was a fabulous surprise.
Disliked: Beds were not very comfortable, older. Dated furnishings.

Liked: Room was comfortable, free breakfast was great and the location to Mayo Clinic was perfect.

Pleasant

Liked: Great value, great location. Friendly staff! Free parking right behind building. Soft, squishy bed and pillows (which is what I like).
Disliked: Room was 80 degrees, in April (50 degrees outside). The very noisy AC unit didn’t seem to be up to the task of cooling the room. Hot tub was out of order, as were half the games and vending machines.

Liked: location convenient to Mayo Clinicbreakfast was tasty - multitude of pastry choices - a bit limited on 'hot entrees'
Disliked: with the road construction in the area - better signage to the 'front door' would have been appreciated

Our stay was very pleasant....

Liked: Very friendly staff. Very accommodating when we needed a late checkout due to a long Mayo appointment. Shuttle with a lift to Mayo was very convenient for my husband who is in a wheelchair temporarily.
Disliked: The bathroom fan was very noisy!
