Good Value but Unfortunate Service

Liked: 90% of the staff were great! Very helpful, used good judgement, offered advice or assistance. Really awesome. At first glance, the room was fine, spacious and mostly clean. The pool area was large, which is what we came for. Lots of sun during the day and just enough chairs. The housekeeping staff was very helpful. The only thing I noticed was dust and debris when I closed the sliding door to the bathroom, which I cleaned with some wet tissues. It could easily be wiped out.
Disliked: 1 person was consistently rude or intentionally unhelpful, made no effort to be of service. When we compared notes, it was the same person. She clearly had some sort of issue, not sure how to put it. If she feels the need for power, I hope that the property owner sees this and realizes it's detrimental to the business. My friend and I experienced her separately but the results were the same for both of us. I don't think any guest should hear, in the presence of those checking in, "get your own damn ice". Other than that, the pool could have been cleaner. During the 4 days we were at the pool, it was skimmed for about 10 min on the first day and vacuumed nicely the 2nd day. On the 4th day, no one had reset the pool area, chairs were all over, there were only 3-4 clean towels, there was garbage on tables and chairs, and a beer can floating in the pool.

Beautiful Location - Underwhelming Experience

Liked: Candice was great — though she was unaware of the mishaps until the end. The Hotel manager during the day was also responsive and helpful. Convenient location next to the highway — free parking was the cherry on top.
Disliked: My family and I solely stayed here based on the “excellent” reviews. Otherwise, we would’ve chose somewhere else - as we are not Choice Hotel stayers. Immediately after check-in we checked everything in the room to ensure there was no issues. We noticed the lack of drainage (water in the room didn’t drain) and battled with standing water in the sink. We informed management, and was told the team would fix it the next day. We ended up using the toilet to dispose of brushing our teeth and the shower to rinse. Never in my life have I experienced this regarding a hotel chain. We did notice a note in the elevator communicating that the water would be off from 11PM-4AM due to drainage maintenance on the first day of check-in, prior to the above issue, which was disappointing— as this is not what we paid for.Trash was left in the bins when we checked the bathroom, and the floors were dirty. We could tell this based on the white socks we wore. The socks were completely black at the bottom. Lastly, room service. Don’t ask for anything “light” because you’ll get just that. We did notice at one point that the beds were made, however, the sheets underneath were visibly bunched up.We ended up switching rooms before the end of our stay. Maintenance “lied” and said they fixed the drainage and standing water and they did not.We will never stay with this chain again and will communicate the same feedback to family.

Disliked: When I checked in wasn’t told about breakfast or dinner that was served downstairs in the lobby. I asked if I needed to check in early would it cost. I was yes it would be 35.00 or free if I needed. I didn’t end up needing to but when I wanted to have a late checkout it was going to be almost 80.00
