Where modern heritage meets a warm Derbyshire welcome. Oakhill is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed (Georgian style) house built by the Arkwright family in the mid 19th century as a private family dwelling. The hotel is located in the stunning Derbyshire countryside set in extensive landscaped gardens within the historic village of Cromford in the UNESCO Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. Oakhill has four beautifully furnished suites all with the most wonderful open views. Each is finished to an impeccable standard with original features and thoughtful heritage touches throughout. There are ten further bedrooms offering comfortable and spacious accommodations with private bathrooms. Derbyshire dining at its best! Experience Oakhill's elevated take on traditional home cooking with a friendly thoughtful service. We serve breakfast lunches dinners and afternoon teas. We pride ourselves on using locally sourced quality ingredients complemented by a reasonably priced comprehensive wine list. Our stylish bar and lounge and elegant dining room overlook our beautiful garden. We can cater for any family celebration including weddings. Please note: Due to us being a Grade II listed building this means that our rooms and grounds are not suitable for customers with mobility issues. We do advise you to call reception to discuss this further.

Lovely property, outstanding staff! Shame...

Liked: Quite honestly the friendliest most helpful staff of any property anywhere I have ever been.
Disliked: The room was sparse with no place to put one's things in the bathroom. But more seriously, the vent fan for the kitchen was under the room. I shook the bed! If we had needed a sleep in or an early night that would be out of the question. So, any down rate on the property is almost 100% due to that.

Peaceful night away!

Liked: Lovely gardens. The room was excellent and super clean.
Disliked: The bed was a little hard, but that’s more personal preference.

Great place to stay! Worth...

Liked: EXCELLENT LOCATION and great staff! Rooms were clean and the views were amazing.Staff were professional and extremely well mannered. I really can't fault them at all. Food was delightful! Dinner and breakfast were great!Highly recommend this place. It's a real jewel!!!
Disliked: Nothing about the hotel at all. Some guests were a bit noisy in the morning, but that's got nothing to do with the hotel!

Liked: Second stay here, didn't disappoint. Beautiful hotel, nice and peaceful. Views are stunning. Nice food and drinks. Staff very friendly. Sharon was fantastic.

Great accommodation, food and staff...

Liked: Excellent mid-week break. Comfy accommodation that was very well finished. The evening meal was very tasty with freshly prepared ingredients and good portion size. Breakfast did not disappoint! All the staff, both reception and serving, were perfect. The gardens and grounds were well maintained with plenty of seating.
Disliked: A shelf in the bathroom would have been handy but not a deal breaker.
