Whether you’re stopping in for a glass of sangria or sharing tapas with friends, it’s a comfy, no-fuss option in the city’s buzzing entertainment district.

Why Concert-goers love it

Its central location makes Spain Restaurant & Toma Bar a go-to for concert-goers heading to nearby venues. The quick service and shareable tapas are ideal for groups looking to dine without missing the opening act. Weeknight shows? No problem—this spot offers efficient dining even when it’s busy. The ambient noise level stays moderate, so you can still chat over dinner without shouting. It’s also open late enough to catch a bite after the encore.

What People Say

Diners praise the authentic Spanish flavors, especially the paella, patatas bravas, and house-made sangria. The friendly staff and cozy interior get frequent mentions, as does the excellent value for the downtown location. Many reviewers call it a hidden gem, perfect for a relaxed meal before heading out for live music.

Areas for Improvement

The interior is on the smaller side, so it can feel a bit tight during peak hours. Reservations are a good idea on event nights. A few guests have noted that the decor is a bit dated, but most agree it adds to the charm.

The Bottom Line

Spain Restaurant & Toma Bar offers tasty tapas, quick service, and a relaxed vibe—a winning combo for concert-goers in downtown Tampa.

The wait staff was very attentive and worked hard to make sure we were happy and satisfied. The tapas tasting menu was a great way to try a lot of dishes. I really enjoyed the croquetas de jamon.

Liked: Chocolate con churros and white sangria were both amazing!
Disliked: I was hoping for my favorite Spanish recipe: chicken in 40 cloves of garlic, but everything we tried was tasty.

Liked: The food, drinks and ambience was fab and wait staff very pleasant.
Disliked: We had to leave as the musicians started playing. I want to go back to hear the guitarist.
