The Spotlight on Palm Court Brasserie

Classic French Charm in the Heart of Covent Garden

Nestled on bustling King Street, just a short walk from Covent Garden’s theatres and concert halls, Palm Court Brasserie offers an inviting escape with its art deco interiors and modern French cuisine. The vibe is relaxed yet elegant, with a warm, candle-lit atmosphere that recalls a traditional Parisian bistro—ideal for winding down before a big show or celebrating after one. With its convenient location and smart casual dress code, it strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and stylish.

Why Concert-goers love it

Palm Court Brasserie is a go-to for music and theatre lovers thanks to its proximity to major venues like the Royal Opera House and the West End’s biggest stages. The service is known for being efficient and friendly, making it an excellent choice for a pre-show dinner without feeling rushed. The menu offers a range of French classics—from steak frites to crème brûlée—served in a relaxed setting where you can still hear your companion talk.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a lively yet refined spot to gather before a show

What People Say

Reviewers on TripAdvisor and OpenTable repeatedly praise the excellent value for money, with many highlighting the pre-theatre menu as both affordable and satisfying. Diners love the ambience—often described as “charming” and “authentically French”—and the attentive staff who keep things moving even during busy times. The location is a major plus, especially for those squeezing in a meal before curtain call.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the tables can be a bit close together, especially during peak hours, which may not suit those seeking a quieter dining experience. Others note that while the food is consistently good, it’s more about comfort and classics than cutting-edge cuisine.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a concert or show near Covent Garden, Palm Court Brasserie delivers classic French flavours, quick service, and old-school charm just steps from the action.

Good menu with something for everyone. We had booked for pre- theatre and were served efficiently and promptly by friendly staff. I think we have been 5 or more times now!
