Le Rivage is a warm, family-owned French restaurant tucked away on New York City's bustling Restaurant Row, just minutes from major Broadway theaters and concert venues. With its rustic decor, candlelit tables, and welcoming staff, this long-running bistro brings a touch of Paris to Midtown Manhattan. Known for its consistently delicious prix-fixe menus and old-world charm, it’s a go-to for anyone seeking an intimate and satisfying meal before a show.
Le Rivage’s location on West 46th Street is ideal for catching a bite before curtain call—or curtain drop. The prix-fixe menu offers both value and variety, and the kitchen is known for its efficient service, making it easy to dine without feeling rushed. Even when the area is buzzing with pre-show crowds, the restaurant maintains a relaxed, conversational atmosphere—a welcome break from Midtown’s hustle. Plus, with many venues just a five-minute walk away, you’ll be back in your seat in time for the opening act.
Diners consistently rave about the warm hospitality, noting it feels like a "slice of France in NYC." The prix-fixe menu is a highlight, praised for both its quality and value. Favorites like duck à l’orange, beef bourguignon, and escargots are frequently mentioned in glowing reviews. Many also point out the restaurant’s intimate ambiance, perfect for both pre-show excitement and quiet conversation. Staff are described as “attentive and kind without being overbearing.”
Some reviewers mention that while the ambiance is charming, the decor feels a bit dated. On especially busy nights, service can be a little slower than expected, though still friendly. Also, the classic French menu may not cater to more adventurous or modern palates.
If you're looking for a cozy, classic dining experience just steps from NYC’s top concert stages, Le Rivage is a reliable and romantic choice that won’t derail your show schedule.

This is super close to the theater with a fixed price menu. If you like small plates or soup and salad this is not the place for you.
Liked: The conversation between tables and the happy birthday next to us!
Disliked: The tuna was not a good cut.
