About Camellias
The Spotlight on Camellias

Pink Elegance Meets Pre-Show Charm

Camellias is a chic, blush-toned champagne lounge located inside Hotel Bennett on King Street, placing you right in the heart of historic Charleston and just a short stroll from the city’s top concert venues. Known for its Instagram-worthy interiors and refined vibe, this intimate spot offers a sophisticated spin on traditional afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, delicate pastries, and a curated champagne list. Whether you're warming up for an evening performance or winding down after a matinee, Camellias is a stylish and serene escape.

Why Concert-goers love it

Camellias is a top pick for music lovers who want to kick off their night with something a little different. Its central location makes it a convenient stop before heading to a show, and the calm, upscale atmosphere is a welcome break from the typical pre-concert crowd. Guests love the efficient but unhurried service, meaning you can enjoy your tea and champagne without worrying about missing the opening act.

Who this Restaurant is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to start the night with a touch of glamour
  • Solo travelers wanting a peaceful space before a big show
  • Couples planning a romantic, music-filled weekend
  • Fans seeking a unique, elegant pre-show experience
  • Budget-conscious music fans looking for a special treat without committing to a full dinner

What People Say

Reviewers consistently rave about the stunning decor—expect pink marble, crystal chandeliers, and plush velvet seating. Many guests say the afternoon tea experience is “one of the best in Charleston,” with standout service and beautifully presented treats. The champagne selections are also a highlight, creating a perfect pairing for a celebratory outing before catching a concert.

Areas for Improvement

Because of its intimate size, seating can be limited, so it’s best to book in advance. Some reviewers note that the menu is more focused on presentation than portion size, so if you’re looking for a hearty meal before a show, you may want to plan an additional stop or consider it more of a pre-show indulgence.

The Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a stylish and serene pre-concert experience, Camellias delivers elegance, charm, and just the right touch of sparkle.

l We enjoyed afternoon tea especially the pink tea. Definitely expensive which is why this should be for a special occasion. The desserts and sandwiches were average.
