Good clean hotel great location

Liked: Very unique property and cool in the heat, hotel staff were polite and efficient at checkin
Disliked: Wasn’t clear how or where to checkin and the security guy wasn’t the friendliest when I arrived, I checked in much later than planned and it felt inconvenient.

Bad

This is a hostel, not...

Liked: Location is awesome, air con was pretty good. That's about it for the positives on this venue.
Disliked: The hotel is so far underground it's practically in the tube station (and you can hear the tubes rumbling away until later and starting very early). The venue has some rooms that sleep 4/6 so it's not a hotel so much as a hostel. That meant incredibly noisy with groups of school kids on visits. I barely slept the hotel was so noisy, so much banging, door slamming, and some strange mechanical sound/contracting metal noise every hour or two in my room, as well as consistent banging. I've stayed at Zedwell properties before (similar in style to a Yotel or Hub by Premier Inn) but this is not the one... it does a disservice to the brand because this is an entirely different product and needs separation from the brand. Avoid.

Expensive for what it is

Liked: The location was great.
Disliked: The mattress is too big for the bed. Double mattress shoved onto a small bed frame so it over hangs. Very noisy, thin walls can hear people in other rooms. The underground can be heard clearly. No hair dryer in the room or anything really. No tea or coffee etc. have to go to a beauty room for a hair dryer very inconvenient. Lifts get too busy.

Liked: Saurabh at reception was excellent, friendly and very helpful. All the staff were great. Very central location.

Liked: Only positive thing is the location. Very close to the underground. In the heart of Soho and West End.
Disliked: The hotel claims to provide a calm oasis and a whole new level of relaxation... we experienced the complete opposite. The rooms are VERY tiny. No room for luggage or toiletry storage, especially if you have two pieces of luggage. Because it is such a close space, you have no room left to manouvre if there are two persons in the room. We knew beforehand there were no windows in the room and it was an underground hotel. However, we did not expect it to be located on the levels -4 and -5, under the underground. This knowledge, together with the room size and the limited space to move around in the room gave us an extremely claustrophobic feeling. This could all have been overlooked as our fault, room m² was known beforehand, same as the no windows. The WORST thing about this as was the NOISE! You can actually hear the underground every time it passes by. The room is NOT soundproof at all. You can hear neightbours (and there are A LOT of rooms on the same floor). Worst of all is the noise coming from the pipes!! Wincing, flushing, dripping, peeping, water passing through... you hear every. single. thing. We did complain about it to the reception. They sent maintenance to check the noise. In the 3 minutes he was in the room he did not hear a noise so dismissed our claims ("we have never heard that complaint", allthough there were people mentioning this in the reviews... which sadly we did not all read). We feel like even though we would have changed rooms, the same problem would have occured in another room. Given that you could hear the noises in the hallways sometimes. The airco/heather did not function properly as well. Given the high temperatures outside, the cool room was OK for us. All in all... the claims on the hotel website are VERY misleading. No tranquil or zen space. No peace. We came out even more sleepless and stressed.
