Wyndham Houston near NRG Park/Medical Center

Check in was at 3 pm which was ridiculous. Reserved a non-smoking room but the room smelled like cigarettes - even the lobby smelled like cigarettes. Tried to order room service for breakfast but no one answered so we had to drive and find somewhere to eat. For the amount we paid for one night I think it was a rip off - totally disappointed with our stay. The staff were friendly - the only positive I noted.

Disliked: Check in was at 3pm; room smelled like smoke.

Never Again

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The hotel smelled old and mildew. The Room was dirty. The bathroom ceiling was falling down on me. The bedding had hair in the sheets. The staff was not helpful or friendly

Passable

Liked: It was close to the venue.
Disliked: The rooms are very run down. My room didn’t have hand soap. The lock on the door was broken, the paint along the door was scraped off, there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom that looked like toothpaste was squeezed in it to cover the hole. We were in an old part of the hotel. The entire hotel needs a make over. I didn’t feel that the room I was in was worth $338 for the night, more like $100.

Liked: It was walking distance to stadium
Disliked: They didn’t tell us event parking would be at the hotel making parking difficult for guess. Room had old rugs that smelled during tht stay.

Convenient for stadium activities but...

Liked: The location and the friendly staff.
Disliked: The water in the shower fluctuated between hot and cold. I had to work with locking the door. The curtains weren’t in good condition.

Great for walking to/from NRG....

Liked: The location
Disliked: Breakfast was supposed to be included, per the booking. It wasn’t. Hotel was humid throughout. Parking was expensive. No hotel security on site. No hot water.

Pleasant

Disliked: The room itself had a lot of issues for the price. The lights either didn’t work or where florescent, especially in the bathroom. Was shocked at the poor state of the bathtub’s ceiling. Cleanliness was fine but really need improvements to the room. $400 a night for that room was not worth it

Not worth the price.

Liked: The bed was comfortable. The staff were amazing - truly the best thing about the place. The drinks were well made.
Disliked: The shower was cold. There were only 2 lounge chairs at the pool, and 1 looked sunken in. The interior hallways and room’s overall appearances were very dated. There was no fridge in the room. There were no amenities other than a shampoo, soap bar, and a conditioner/lotion. Definitely not worth the $$$.

HORRIBLY MANAGED MOTEL - NOT...

Disliked: EVERYTHING ELSE!! Started off waiting 2hrs in a hot & crowded lobby to ck in while the mgr just stood there staring at the 3 employees processing. He could've easily helped from the desk he was at or even at the desk near the breakfast area. During chk-in, we were advised that we had to pay a $30 parking fee on top of the $300 spent for the night. We were there to enjoy a concert & missed the 1st hr of the show. Grrr... Finally, we get to our rm where it was so hot. We took showers to cool down & thought maybe it'll cool down while we're at the concert. We get back & it's even hotter!! We went down to ask for a different rm, which was another 30-minute wait. There was only ONE employee & I'm sure he didn't care much since he didn't question our request to move, nor did he apologize for any inconvenience. And the lobby was still hot at 12AM!! The ice machines also didn't work... the new rm was a downgrade which didn't have a fridge, just the empty cabinet. It shouldn't even be considered a hotel -- it gives MOTEL VIBES with all of the outdated carpets & furniture.

Liked: Staff was supportive and attentive at front desk
Disliked: Dirty, outdated rooms, no hot water in shower for entire stay for 2 nights. Just outdated hotel and not worth $250 per night
