A disappointing experience due to...
Liked: A nice room with a view, and a good night's sleep.
Disliked: This may or not have been the hotel's fault... but at around 1am the power to the whole facility failed. By the morning, it had not been restored (generator power came on just as we headed off!!) and as we had to leave for our next destination (this hotel was chosen as a stopover on a long journey) we departed without the paid-for breakfast, or being able to shower as the water pumps were not working (thank heavens the toilet flushes were!). We used the bottled water in the room for teeth cleaning, using the light from our phones in the bathroom! So in all honesty, I cannot give good marks to this hotel as our experience was disappointing... not the fault of the staff on duty, I should say! I have also not been contacted as yet regarding any sort of refund...

I would rename the property...
Liked: Some of the staff were exceptional.
Disliked: It is advertised as hotel and spa. We didn’t pay for the cheapest room but I would hate to see what that was like. We were above the fitness studio, and next to the car park. Not exactly a relaxing time. The swimming pool was only half accessible due to lessons and that was filled with people just standing in the pool. One morning the lifeguard/pool attendant was struggling to stay awake so moved her self to the open door but still kept dozing. During the power cut some staff acted really unprofessional, gathered in the central cafe, lying on the sofas and eating Greggs. Other staff worked hard to complete tasks and made the situation easier for guests.
