Hotel Description
Set amid parkland with its illustrious history and contemporary renovation Winstanley House is the place to be. As a boutique hotel luxury venue and home to Black Iron a contemporary British steakhouse and restaurant we enjoy welcoming guests through our doors to create memories they'll never forget. The venue is a Grade II Listed Georgian house located just outside of Leicester City Center with 19 stunning bedrooms two elegant ballrooms a modern British restaurant private dining room and beautiful terraces all set in 168 acres of rolling public parkland. Rooms are located in to two areas the original Georgian manor where rooms are accessed via the grand staircase; and the converted coach house offering access by both elevator and stairs. Please advise the hotel in advance if you require elevator access. Our ballrooms and kitchens are able to entertain over 500 guests and our 19 rooms offer luxurious stays after busy days. Please note that only brides who have their weddings at Winstanley house are permitted to enter the building in bridal wear. At the hotel rooms include a desk a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. The rooms at Winstanley House have air conditioning and a wardrobe. The accommodations also offers a terrace with a covered area providing shade from both sun and showers perfect for alfresco drinks with friends. You will find the hotel located in Leicester 2.1 mi from De Montfort and Leicester University while Belgrave Road is 3.7 mi from the property. The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport 16 mi from the hotel. Access is gained by driving through Braunstone park to find the hotel hidden at its center.

Not ideal

Liked: Staff were nice and friendly
Disliked: Room was next to the front door and so much floor noise during night couldn’t sleep at all, no hot water for shower in the morning, breakfast not really special, not worth money i paid

The hotel probably has the...

Liked: The breakfast is on par I’m afraid with Premier inns You need to think seriously if you want to fill your hotel .The outside Parking is atrocious.Moving suitcases ( needed 2) to the car park on what can only be described as shingle is a real let down
Disliked: See above No lift due to the supposed historic listing Is an excuse The disabled act easily works with historic England I found 2places a simple persons/ wheelchair lift could be fitted !The fact your Reception reacted so positively 1. Upgrading us 2. Moving quickly with helping the suitcases was a very clever move Those two points alone meant we did not give up and drive somewhere else .Your breakfast chap was on his own and struggling until who I assumed was the DM or poss GM grappled a cloth and cleaner and cleaned the tables as we finished our breakfast a young lady ( extra) turned up

Not worth the money we...

Disliked: Stayed here after our wedding night for a quick change of scenery, staff were rude unaccommodating, frosty welcome lodged a complaint to the general manager via Niko in guest relations still haven’t heard back, on the day or our stay they lost our luggage had to wait 45 mins after describing it to concierge, our key didn’t work had to go get a manual key, was put in the middleOf a wedding party constant knocking on either side of our door from 5:30am didn’t even go to check out as 0 acknowledgment from front desk, when exiting.Not worth a single penny we paid, do not have high expectations when staying here far better hotels in the city where you will be made to feel like a welcomed guest

Liked: Room lovely and the staff sooo friendly and that was everyone we spoke too. ❤️
Disliked: The pillows were too hard for us but I'm sure if we asked others would of been sourced
