Liked: Central position.
Disliked: Surprised that the bar till automatically adds 10% even when standing at the bar to buy. Should be clearly signed if policy as even the bar staff were confused why the total was more than the sum of the parts.Nice to have a car park but too small for everyone. Recommended alternative ok but limited to max stay of 24 hours.

Liked: Smart bathroom, nice spacious comfortable bedroom
Disliked: Had to park on public parking a couple of hundred metres away as no space at hotel. Room was overlooked by flats so needs blinds/net curtains

Liked: Central location
Disliked: Hotel advertised as having parking places. But when we got there, car park was full and we were told to use a public car park about 10 mins walk away. Although parking was free after 7 pm, we have to get to the carpark by 8 am the next morning to pay and display the parking ticket. Manager not at all helpful or sympathetic. Did not even give us information regarding breakfast or checkout times. Although he did help with getting our luggage up the stairs. Not exactly able to relax as have to set alarm to get to the car park

Another great stay
Liked: Everything. Great hotel.
Disliked: Would have preferred a garden view like like we've had before. But the rate we paid was excellent, so I didn't bother to mention to reception.

Central, historic and with a...
Liked: Central, historic and with a very special secret garden to linger in, this quirky hotel is a great place for meeting up with friends and exploring Winchester on foot. There is a restaurant, bar and a spacious, inviting sitting room. The en-suite rooms are comfortable, functional and clean with chairs and a tv.The staff were consistently hardworking and charming despite the challenge of these COVID times and a very busy September. The breakfast was good and plentiful despite the queue. We were a group of elderly old friends meeting up in delightful Winchester for a short break together. This hotel was ideal.
Disliked: The queue for breakfast needs some reorganising and the guest car parking at the hotel elusive. Nearby St Peter?s car park is a suitable alternative, though, and luggage can be dropped off first. I had difficulty communicating with the hotel by phone or email but am now aware how busy the staff were.
