Lovely hotel with great staff.

Liked: This is a great hotel. Full disclosure, I turned up with my suitcase expecting to check in - and the dates I'd booked were for the week after. However, Charlotte on the desk went out of her way to help and kindly found me a room. Comfortable hotel with nice facilities, including a spa - which I didn't get to use, because of time, but hope to be back in the future.
Disliked: Nothing.

Wedding stay at the White...

Liked: We attended a wedding there and we're able to check in a little earlier which was great .The room was lovely ,spacious and cool which was great as it was June . The staff were great ,the wedding room was lovely and the food was great , although a buffet style so can't comment on a hot sir down meal. The bar staff were quick and professional. The breakfast was really good . Would stay here again.
Disliked: Nothing

Good but overpriced

Liked: The hotel is closer to the Offa Dyke hiking path. The room was clean and the restaurant in the hotel was good.
Disliked: The room was simple but wasn’t furnished with much care. For example, the door of the wardrobe couldn’t be opened fully because it interfered with the room door. For the price, I had expected better.

Nice stay

Liked: The room was nicely decorated, comfortable bed and a great shower. The cooked breakfast was delicious and cooked extremely well.
Disliked: It was quite noisy at night, with a lot of movement from the room above me. The selection for breakfast was limited - just cereal or a cooked breakfast which was disappointing for £15 - wider selection has been available in a small B&B.

Passable

Liked: Breakfast was lovely.
Disliked: I arrived at 14:50 in the middle of a funeral so the bar was closed to the public. I asked if I could check in and was told I could but as I was 10 minutes early from the check in time there would be an additional check in charge :( so I sat on a chair in a corridor and waited until 15:01 to check in. I thought given the circumstances this was rather extreme! When I entered my room it was on a very hot day so I opened up the windows - including the bathroom to be met by the extractor fan over the kitchen. The mattress was rather uncomfortable.

A pleasant hotel in a...

Liked: The staff were helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. There was plenty of space to park my car within the hotel grounds. A good location to access other places I wished to visit.
Disliked: First room given was noisy from extractor fans from the kitchens and heating/cooling systems. That resulted in a disturbed first night. The staff changed our room for the second night. Breakfast had to be ordered at least the day before. We were unaware of this and so our first breakfast was delayed. No yoghurt available. Guests had to collect tea and coffee, cups, saucers, side plates and condiments from a buffet and carry them to the table. The tea was of poor quality. I had a full English breakfast that was well cooked but the bacon was very salty.

Very good

Liked: Comfortable clean rooms, good food
Disliked: Room 5 is next to the air con/extractor fans which started VERY early which isn’t great when you need a good nights rest. Although there was tea & coffee some water would have been nice.
