It was ok.

Liked: Breakfast was lovely. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Disliked: There was no hot water, and there was no offer of a reduction in price because of the inconvenience. Also the Twinnings container of tea and coffee was soaking in alcohol obviously from the previous occupants, rending it unusable. The Hotel is a little tired looking.

Convenient to Churnet railway event...

Disliked: Extremely Poor outside area. Needs a good tidy up and refurb.

Wouldn't stay again!!

Liked: The view from the car park
Disliked: The fact that breakfast isn't served till 8.30am and that there isn't any food available in the evenings Monday and Tuesdays. Yet, this isn't made clear when booking via booking.com. I payed £278.00 to stay 2 nights in a 4* hotel (it is listed as a 4* hotel) but on arrival found it to be border line 3* - 2*

The staff and breakfast were...

Liked: The staff were all very friendly and helpful & went the extra mile with regards to a late check-in. The room was spacious and clean and the pillows were comfortable. The included breakfast was also excellent.
Disliked: For me, the bed was a little hard, the room let quite a lot of light in in the morning due to poorly fitting blinds and lack of curtains. (There were obviously some curtains there previously that hadn't been replaced). The shower pressure was also quite poor unless the heat was very hot, which left it too hot to stand under.
