Absolutely beautiful house and location...

Liked: Staff we're extremely accomodating and even cooked me a breakfast earlier than the set breakfast times. Absolutely lovely grounds, simple but clean and comfortable room
Disliked: WIFI reception wasn't great in my end of the corridor, it didn't cause me any problems but some guests may find it an issue.

I've attended as a traveller...

Liked: Anna was helpful to me, allowing me to arrive out of hours. It's a beautiful building in a beautiful location, a Christian retreat centre where one may participate in morning prayer each day and eucharist on a Friday if you wish to, which I was lucky enough to do. I enjoyed having coffee with the other people from Clitheroe who arrived for holy communion too, they were a really friendly bunch! Breakfast is very good, staff are lovely, rooms are clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Disliked: I can't really think of anything.

A hidden gem in Whalley.

Liked: The location was perfect the building was stunning. Anna and Fiona were just wonderful. The breakfast was delicious too. You do have to bring your own toiletries, but that’s not a big issue. There’s not a tv in the rooms, but again it’s a quiet place to relax. There’s even a library. The gardens were beautiful, tranquil and beautifully maintained. We felt very lucky to stay in a really historic building.
Disliked: There was nothing we didn’t like & we would definitely return.

Liked: The breakfast under heated lights was OK, however we would have preferred a freshly cooked breakfast. The venue is first class and very peaceful.

Thanks for the room upgrade...

Liked: Breakfast was very good but the set out of tables made my breakfast a very solitary one as the set places were very spaced out. The staff were very communicative
Disliked: I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to sit the lounge in the evening. Two nights all the lights had been switched off. The 3rd night I thought things were better as a group of people were having a discussion in the lounge. Unfortunately this was a private meeting and it was quite obvious that I wasn’t welcome. It would also be helpful to direct residents as to where to go for breakfast. I had been told to go downstairs but I wasn’t sure which room to go in. Could please pass on my apology to the service I walked into when I tried to find the breakfast room.
