Character property with excellent contemporary...

Liked: Character property with an excellent service and brilliant food. We we staying for a visit to Cannock Chase and pretty much everything about the stay was spot on. Excellent warm welcome and check in process, bags carried up to room, great evening meal in the restaurant. Nice walk around the grounds. Place is modern and well presented considering that its been around since the 1500's fascinating to read the history of the place. Continental Breakfast was fresh and generous, with the option of paying extra for the cooked. We didn't feel the need and left very full anyway.
Disliked: It's an old building, think narrow corridors, "mind your head" beams and big rocks in the walls. Don't expect a lift. Might not be great if you had accessibility issues.

Disliked: fire alarm at 3am, back in room at 3.20 with it still ringing. absolutely no apology the next day except “ it did that a few days ago “

Liked: Lovely spacious room with beautiful views.Lovely refreshments hamper.
Disliked: External security light was extremely bright, even with blinds closed.Bathroom door was I'll fitted.Check-in point not clearly signposted.Breakfast times were quite early for a Sunday.
