The Spotlight on Wedgewood Hotel

Classic Comfort in the Heart of Bayswater

Set in a charming Victorian townhouse overlooking a quiet garden square, the Wedgewood Hotel offers a cozy, no-frills stay right in the heart of Bayswater. With Queensway and Bayswater Underground Stations just a short stroll away, and Paddington Station within 2 miles, it’s a smart and convenient base for anyone coming to London for a show. The hotel features private en-suite rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a classic London atmosphere at wallet-friendly rates.

Why Concert-goers love it

The Wedgewood Hotel scores points for its easy access to central London music venues via multiple Tube lines, making it a breeze to get to your gig and back. Being set on a peaceful garden square means quiet nights when you're ready to wind down post-show. Plus, with 24-hour front desk service and a handy location near Paddington Station, late-night returns or early departures are a non-issue.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a central base without breaking the bank
- Solo travelers in town for that once-in-a-lifetime concert
- Couples making a weekend getaway of their music experience
- Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space
- Budget-conscious music lovers who just need the essentials

Food and Drink Options

While the Wedgewood doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, you’re just steps away from a range of late-night eateries in Bayswater and Queensway. Whether you're after a late curry, fish and chips, or a quick bite from a corner shop, it’s all within walking distance. Several nearby cafés offer breakfast service if you’ve had a late night, and many spots open early so you can grab a bite before heading home.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel itself is more of a retreat than a party spot, it’s surrounded by bars, pubs, and lounges in the Bayswater area. You’re also a short Tube ride from Soho and Camden — two of London’s most iconic nightlife districts. Perfect for a pre-show pint or a post-gig nightcap.

What People Say

Guests love the great location and proximity to transport. Many mention the charming garden views and the hotel’s value for money. Clean rooms, helpful staff, and quiet surroundings make it a favourite for travelers who want a reliable place to recharge.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can be on the small side, and the furnishings are fairly basic — but if you're here for the music, not the minibar, it does the job. Some guests note that the building shows its age, though it adds to the London townhouse charm.

The Bottom Line

A budget-friendly, well-connected hotel perfect for concert-goers who want a peaceful night’s sleep after the show.

Pleasant

Liked: Good size of the room.Close to a metro station.I hope they have some better rooms rather than that one we rented.
Disliked: It's on the Underground floor. The room is enough size but the table there is too small and only one chair for 3 persons. Bathroom is very small and the shower place is closing by a curtain. Shower head is attached to a pipe and not to hose that is inconvenient if you want to wash only your head. But the worst is the view through the window: spiderweb and bags with rubbish just in front of your window.

Good

Liked: Overall the room I got after complaining was nice. Very basic, but comfortable. It had a kettle (although the tab and sink barely allowed you to fill up the kettle). Bathroom very small but ok.
Disliked: As I checked in, I was told my room was located on floor -1. As I refused to sleep in the basement (?!!), I was first told the hotel was fully booked (which I don't think was true plus I booked well in advance). When I told them I still wouldn't sleep in the basement, I was given a room on the 3rd floor, which was alright. Honestly why do people have to go through this hustle. Just give me a decent room.In my eventual room, the bed was very short, hard, and the pillow caused neck ache.

The location was good. But...

Liked: We were a family of 3 adults. The room had one "single" and one "slightly larger single" bed. For the 3 of us. And, with those two beds, there was no space to have the 3 pieces of luggage let alone a space to place my laptop to do stuff with. The dressing table of sorts was too narrow to be of any use. The bathroom door had to locking mechanism at all. There were no hooks to hang anything in the bathroom - other than the towels. They did provide a fan, a tiny one that could not be adjusted to point horizontal because the mechanism was broken. Overall, what was there to like? At least there was coffee.
Disliked: See above. Room 5 is NOT meant for 3 adults. One, sure. Two, OK. Three? Nope. No lock on the bathroom door, no hooks in the bathroom, a fan that did turn on but was not up to par.
