The room was out dated...

Liked: The location and staff
Disliked: The room we stayed in room 11, smelt really bad , and continuous banging from directly above

Disappointing

Liked: Location is okay food was good for value
Disliked: Room layout can't watch tv from the sofa lacking plug sockets next to bed all frames and windowsill dusty and a gap all down one side of the window so aloud wind into the room all day and night

Comfortable room and a bargain...

Liked: Comfortable bed & friendly staff
Disliked: The elephants in the room upstairs but that wasn't the fault of the hotel

We got what we paid...

Liked: Friendly staff, food nice in pub. Room very clean but furnishings etc very worn & tired-needs a refurb.Handy for bus into Hanley and further afield. We enjoyed our stay
Disliked: Window frames were rotten/mouldy. Stains on bed base, no air con

Overpriced and dirty

Disliked: it was outdated and is in need of a serious update, the bed was so lumpy me and my partners ended up in the middle together. Also don’t bother with Adding breakfast on as it’s cheaper to buy direct and you get more, a lot more. Asked to swap the bacon for black pudding and got some excuse about black pudding is more expensive than bacon etc etc so couldn’t do it I mean really ? I’ve paid 9 pounds for 1 egg 1 sausage 2 hash browns and some beans ? They’re charging the same price of the pub menu and you get 4 sausages 2 eggs 2 bacon black pudding tomatoes mushrooms etc etc. the breakfast is a con and tastes horrible. We ended up at the McDonalds opposite the second morning. If I’m honest we thought we’d give it a try but if I’m honest a premier in is about the same if a tad more and I’d take that any day of this place it smells of weed and just isn’t a nice place to be

Superb

Clean, quiet, great for kids...

Liked: Close to Alton towers and attached to a hungry horse. Great location
Disliked: The double bed had a huge dip in the middle with springs exposed. We flipped the mattress on the 2nd night but that was just as bad. Mattress needed replacing.

Disliked: no hot water and no staff to apologise for this on check out

Cheap and cheerful.

Liked: It was a great location, had a restaurant attached to it, a McDonalds opposite and a Tesco across the road. Was a very easy drive to Alton Towers from there. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Rooms are dated. But clean and secure
