Liked: People were friendly and helpful and location was lovely.
Disliked: The room wasn't in great condition. The lights didn't work, the extractor fan didn't work, the blind fell off the wall in the middle of the night while I was asleep.

Good hotel in a nice...

Liked: Comfortable room, good facilities and the breakfast was quite good.
Disliked: Slightly surprised that there was an additional cost for some breakfast items such as poached eggs!

Nice but needs improvement

Liked: The grounds and main house were beautiful, bed was very comfy, very good breakfast
Disliked: arrived 10 minutes before check in and room wasn't ready, which was fine, but still wasn't ready by 3.30pm, which was frustrating as we had an event to attend at 5.45pm, which didn't leave us a great deal of time to get ready once we arrived to our room. We went to the bar area while we waited and there was not a member of staff in sight, we waited 20 minutes to be served, after asking reception several times for a member of bar staff to help us. We stayed in the Grange rooms, nice but a bit outdated, and stiflingly hot, there was a fan in the room but didn't help at all, no windows to open, only a door, but would not sleep with a ground floor door wide open! Check out was difficult, the member of staff on reception was rude and did not know how to provide a VAT receipt for my whole booking. Called reception to ask for glasses and ice but they said they could not do this. One of our guests rooms shower was faulty, so she had to shower in a colleagues room

Excellent value for money and...

Liked: The grounds and general mansion were exceptional.The staff were so friendly and helpful - I saw Mandy the receptionist most days and she could have not done anymore for me as was true of most of the lovely staff but I didn’t get all their names.Also had a long conversation with the General Manager who was very receptive to my comments about the rooms and I was shown a recently refurbished room and told they were all in the process of being done.Great bars and could not fault the food.Plenty of parking.
Disliked: Rooms very tired and seriously in need of refurbishing. The blind in my room was not acceptable as it didn’t block out the whole window which was a problemat night when the bedroom light was on.I think it should be made clear to guests that depending on which room you are in it good be noisy until late due to the Hotel functions but personally that did not affect me.That said I would not hesitate to go back even in its present state as the surroundings made up for it.

Beautiful property in a stunning...

Liked: Beautiful hotel, lovely little scenic walk.
Disliked: Rooms hot and stuffy. Was in room 73 and only had doors opening out to outside which we couldn’t leave open over night so had to use a small fan.Doors had no locks on the inside.
