Liked: We had booked a taxi to take us to the ferry port in the morning to catch the early morning ferry. The taxi was pre-booked with a local taxi company, which I believe has a monopoly in Portsmouth. We were told in the morning that no taxies were available. The gentleman on reception had seen that we were running late, and he pre-empted me, by calling the company. Unfortunately there was nothing he could do, so we had to phone our Son on a BH Monday to get out of bed and pick us up. This is by no way criticism of the staff who were extremely helpful. Not sure if the Hotel can offer a different service for customers who are reliant on Public transport. Shame on Aqua cars for their poor service. They used to be so good.

Shower made in Heaven!

Liked: Room was fantastic, very clean and had all what I needed. The shower was a whole other level, I did not expect having the most amazing shower that I didn't want to get out of. so powerful, clean. The BEST shower I have ever had in a hotel. Extremely comfy bed that was massive, two pillows each. Just great. defo recommend. Oh and the breakfast was great LOTS of choice.
Disliked: Had to ask for another towel as only one in the room. However staff were on hand and got us one straight away. Check in machine wouldn't find our booking, Again extremely helpful, friendly staff on hand to sort this.

Poor price-to-value ratio.

Liked: Fundamentally fine. There are plenty of facilities in the hotel that I did not get to use such as the gym and pool, and the reception staff were quite helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was quite nice. It was well situated for my purposes as I had a friend to give me a lift. It was very modern.
Disliked: Considering the price paid, the food was disappointing at dinner. The menu also featured no allergen advice, did not list which products might contain gluten, and table service can charitably be described as spotty.I also spotted some moldy bread at breakfast, which is pretty terrible regardless of price. Taking everything into account, the amount I paid for 1 night and breakfast was not really worth it.

Liked: The staff were extremely helpful, breakfast was excellent
Disliked: No proper reception desk, only one member of staff there at any time so long wait for help to be given. Do not like or ever wish to use anything self service during a hotel brea6.Travelling with a friend we found the bathroom facilities in our room, most inappropriate, whilst you can push a button for privacy while using the toilet or shower this option was not actually available to include the bathroom door. Even if I and my husband were travelling together this would still be unacceptable. The awful colour scheme for the rooms, made it look cheap. The room we had overlooked the outside area for the gym and the noise disturbance from instructors and music became quite a nuisance.
