Great price for the location....

Liked: Because of the price and the looks of the exterior, I was prepared for this motel to be a "no tell motel" with prostitutes and drug deals going down in the parking lot. That wasn't the case at all! The rooms are very small, but clean. The bed was very comfortable, and not once did I feel unsafe. It's in an excellent location, right across from the Motor City Casino and a bus stop right on the corner if you're into public transportation. We were literally the only people staying there the night we were there, so there was plenty of parking. I plan on staying here again the next time we're seeing a show at Little Caesar's Arena or a football/baseball game downtown.
Disliked: The language barrier at the front desk was a little frustrating. The man was mostly using hand gestures to tell me what he wanted me to do because I couldn't understand him, so be prepared for that. Also, the key to the rooms are actual old school keys and they require you to give them $5 cash as a "key deposit" to ensure that you return the key. The room itself had a strong perfume smell and it was so strong we had to open the window for a while to air it out a bit. The toilet paper was pretty sparse...we had one roll on the toilet paper holder that was mostly gone and an extra roll that was half-used. We only stayed one night so it wasn't a problem, but I still felt the need to conserve as I wasn't looking forward to trying to explain to the front desk that I needed more toilet paper with the language barrier being as bad as it was upon check-in.

Satisfied

Liked: Beds were comfortable, bathroom was a decent size. Microwave and mini fridge included. Flat screen TV with cable.
Disliked: Looks rough from the outside but the rooms have been renovated in the last few years. Bathroom door had clearly been kicked in a time or two.
