U Hotel Fifth Avenue

The hotel is in a walking distance CUNY Graduate Center (2 minutes!). My room was great, very clean, and then provided water every day, coffee (for coffee maker) and cookies. It was a very pleasant stay with very friendly front desk staff! I come to the CUNY quite often, so next time I will stay again at this hotel!

Second stay at Ufifth Hotel...

Liked: This was my second stay at Ufifth Hotel and I still absolutely love it! We're always greeted with a warm welcome, and the location couldn't be more perfect for a trip to New York. The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful, and the daily housekeeping keeps everything spotless. It really feels like a home away from home

Disliked: The room had a very strong and unpleasant smell. It was not clean — for example, we found a bottle under the bed that clearly wasn’t ours and it stayed there during our entire stay, which means nobody vacuumed the floor. The carpet was dirty and smelled like sour, sweaty socks.We only received two bottles of water on the first day, and when we asked for more at the reception the next day, they said they would bring them — but never did. On the third day, we asked again, and one of the staff members insisted the water bottles were already in the room, which they weren’t.The phone in the room didn’t work, so if you needed anything, you had to go down to reception — but even then, it didn’t help much because requests weren’t fulfilled.Overall, the smell in the room was unbearable and the general impression of the hotel was disappointing.Also, the room was extremely small.

U HOTEL

Liked: The staff at this hotel were super friendly and very helpful.The location of this hotel is fantastic and it is directly linked to Starbucks which is great for those morning coffee drinkers.
Disliked: The room was on the small side.Also at the time of our stay scaffolding was erected around the building which blocked our view from the window.

Clean and neat but horrible...

Liked: The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.
Disliked: The sheets on the bed were dreadful. They were 100% polyester and no amount of air conditioning was going to solve the problem of how awful they were to sleep on. They were sweaty and too slippery. They made a very comfortable bed and pillows difficult to sleep on. The air conditioner also jutted into the room so far it made it hard to get around to that side of the bed. The room was small but it because even smaller with that AC unit. Also, no coffee maker. That was a disappointment.
