Excellent staff all around. Friendly and engaging every time we stay here. Everyone from the front desk to house keeping are top notch. On this stay Roberto and GM Joseph Macedo went above and beyond. TRYP Newark is the only place we will stay for our yearly visit back home.
Liked: Outstanding.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

When we got to our room there was only one bed (thought I booked 2 beds); no chair and we had what looked like dried blood on our light switch! Called the front desk. They changed our room. We still had only 1 bed and when I pulled the bedding down there was hair in the bed. We were exhausted and made the best of it. Hoping never to go back!
Liked: Bathroom was nice.
Disliked: Blood on our light switch; hair in my bed.

Disliked: some of the men at the desk were very unprofessional and lacking in attention to details and hospitality at check in.i am a rewards member so I book online, twice i was told there was no reservation and no room unless I waited until rooms were released by housekeeping. after waiting an hour, I was told i could pay for the next day but no room at the inn today. I decided to go to the Hilton instead. funny thing is the next week when I arrived the young man said I had no reservation at Tryp but it was at the Hilton. this elderly, handicapped lady lugged all my luggage to Hilton Doubletree only to find out my reservation WAS at the Tryp. this indicates some hospitality retraining for these men is necessary!!!

Liked: It was very modern. Beautiful colors and fixtures. The rooms are cozy. A stay at [Hotel Name] is truly wonderful, and the impeccable cleanliness is a standout feature throughout the visit. Disliked: If i am a paying guest at the hotel, i should not have to pay for parking. I paid $20 per day so if i had stayed for a week i would have had to pay $100. I only spent two day so i paid an extra $20. I think that is highly rediculous.

Liked: It was very clean in a great location. Loved the two sets of shades: one blackout and one to let in light. Quiet, comfy, would recommend. The airport shuttle was a plus.
Disliked: I liked everything. No complaints.

Such a beautiful room to...
Liked: After our vacation flight to Orlando got canceled, we decided to stay here for two nights. I had stayed here once before for 3 nights for one of my bday celebrations. My favorite part about this hotel is the decor, they have DirectTV cable and the fact that it has a restaurant on ground level.
Disliked: What got me alil upset about this property is they used to have a microwave (when I booked the first time) in the rooms and today currently they do not. I think this is a big issue because if I had a night out with my husband and we want to save our leftovers to eat for the next day, they will just be wasted. I think the worst part was when I went downstairs to ask about microwave, the guy just said “nope, no microwaves” he did not try to accommodate or ask the restaurant manager at all for one-time use of microwave. This new change is very wasteful for all guests and microwaves needs to be added to rooms immediately. And as for the restaurant downstairs, the menu prices are wayyyy overpriced so if you’re staying there on a budget don’t either both to eat at the restaurant on site.
