Liked: They were right when they said they bring a little bit of Austria to Vermont they were right. The hotel and grounds were exceptionally clean. The staff was always welcoming when you arrived at the hotel, and the food at the Kaffehaus and the Main Dining Room was awesome.

Nice property, expensive and poor...

Liked: The location was great. The hotel was very interesting and seemed to have a lot to do. The property and views were beautiful.
Disliked: I found out on my drive up that the pool was out of service which was a big thing for my kids. I appreciated that they set up accommodations with the swimming hole. The downside was that it was off property and not like the pool at the hotel. The other thing that my kids were excited for was the rock climbing wall. When we tried to use it we were informed that none of the staff that was working that day and every other day of our stay were not trained on how to use it so my kids were out of luck. The food was pretty good but could use a little more selection. The beer was great but the mixed drinks were very expensive and were (excuse my bluntness) awful. One night I got a dirty martini for my wife and a Manhattan for myself. The person tending bar from what I was told was a bartender for 2 hours. The 2 drinks with time cost $50. The following night there was a different bartender so I thought I would give it another try. The same drinks with tip came out to $60 ($10 more than the night prior) and were also pretty rough. The following night at dinner I figured I would give it one more change and tried something from the menu. Unfortunately this was also a fail. Overall the stay was mostly positive but with the issues experienced and the cost I am not sure if I would come back or would recommend it to a friend but would need more time to think about it.

Disliked: The first room we were in had to be changed. Went outside on the deck and there were cigarettes butts on the deck and wires on the railing. They changed our room without a problem.The breakfast buffet was marginal and overpriced.
