TOP Phoenix Hotel London

Superb

Liked: Very clean & comfortable hotel in a great location close to tube & mainline train stations, shops, restaurants & supermarkets. Quiet & safe area (I felt safe walking back from tube late at night by myself). I was upgraded to a bigger room which was nice.
Disliked: Not a criticism but just be aware there is no aircon in the rooms. The window opened & there was a small fan but it was still very warm at night. Quite common in UK hotels which is why it's not a criticism, just a be aware if you struggle with heat

Liked: Well located, good value for money, plentiful breakfast and very clean throughout
Disliked: It was extremely hot in my room, but they had done what they could to mitigate that by providing a fan

no aircondioner in the rooms...

Liked: breakfast was reasonable with a variety of options
Disliked: facilities were poor. there was no air conditioner in the room. the 4 days we were there, the temperature was very warm around 27-28 degrees. The windows can only be open only a fraction. with no air con, we really struggled. it was very stuffy and incredibly warm in the room. There was also no mini fridge in the room. we couldn’t keep cold drinks like water.

Liked: Clean and close to public transportation. Easy to get anywhere.

Great hotel if you want...

Liked: Very good location, close to shops, tube stations and bus stops. Very quiet at night. Room cleaned well each day.
Disliked: I traveled alone and stayed for 3 nights. I walked through reception 3 or 4 times a day, on only one occasion did reception staff speak to me. I left at 5.30am one morning to visit the flower market, the security guard was on his phone in the lounge chairs in Reception, I walked out the front door, passing 6 inches from him and he didn't even look up or acknowledge me. At breakfast I collected a coffee, put it on a table went back to collect some breakfast and when I came back the waitress had cleared my coffee away. When I checked out I gave my key card to the receptionist, she took it and said "checking out?" I said yes thank you and that was it, she turned away, didn't ask how my stay had been, have a good journey, absolutely nothing, not even goodbye! I have never experienced that before in countless hotel stays. I didn't feel like a welcome guest or even a visible guest.

Liked: The bed was very comfy. The staff friendly and helpful. the area supernice
Disliked: No possibility for fresh air or aircon

Disliked: No AC in the room and the 3 nights we were in town it was very hot outside making it warm in our room
