The location at timberline makes...

Liked: Timberline is a outstanding property with regards to location. Easy access from Portland and great roads that get you there safely. The view is unbeatable, and the architecture is so unique.
Disliked: I feel like the property is starting to show age and needs a bit of TLC. The sofas are showing where and the staff seems to lag and getting things tidied up around the great rooms where the fireplaces are located. The sink in my bathroom did not drain and my phone was missing a mouthpiece so when I tried calling the desk to get some assistance, they could not hear me speak

Amazing place, but NOT worth...

Liked: Wonderful location, beautiful setting, and steeped in history. A place I’ve visited on day trips countless times but finally stayed overnight. Always enjoy seeing FDR’s chair and the other historic displays, plus the amazing craftsmanship of depression-era WPA workers who built the lodge.Best part was hanging out by the massive, multi-story, super cool three-sided fireplace in the evening after the day crowds departed.
Disliked: I know it’s a remote, old/historic hotel with high operating and maintenance costs, but a super basic room with a creaky bed is NOT worth $400/night -- during the week, that is! Costs even more on weekends. We were also jarred awake around 4am to the backup beeping of a snowplow/tractor outside, which continued nonstop all morning clearing the parking lot. I know that’s a necessity, but still obnoxious.Lastly, the main dining room’s breakfast buffet is extremely disappointing - $29.50 per person for barely a step above what you’d get free/included at a Holiday Inn express.

You don’t stay here for...

Liked: This is an historic lodge and very old. The space is wonderful, but the staff was hit or miss. You stay here for the skiing not for the service. Some of the staff was amazing so not so.. it’s expensive but it’s the only place on the mountain. :)
Disliked: Checkin was made more difficult by poor training of the staff. Getting reservations to the restaurant was very hard. It’s noisy and the beds are creaky and you can hear everything in the hallways in the room next to you room above you.

Good we will come again,...

Liked: Timberline is always a nice place to be
Disliked: We love the mountain & timberline, but the one night stay wasn't worth the price & the dinning took a while, apparently they were short staffed.
