We enjoyed visiting our son...

Liked: The Hollywood Grande was lovely. The staff was wonderful and we took advantage of most of the amenities the hotel had to offer. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at the rooftop terrace and spent much of our time at the pool. The location was convenient to nearby restaurants, we especially enjoyed Ka’teen. I also attended a fun yoga session at the nearby sister hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. We were on the eighth floor in a corner room so our view of the city was stunning. We thought the happy hour at the lobby bar was also a very nice touch.
Disliked: Our room only had one reading lamp by the bed. We would have enjoyed one on each side of the bed. Also, the pool was too shallow with only 3 1/2 ft. at the deepest end so it was uncomfortable to swim.

Nice, clean, modern hotel with...

Liked: Rooftop pool, bar, and lounge are excellent - great food and drinks, great views. Champagne on check-in is a nice touch. The hotel is modern and in very nice condition and always buzzy. The bathroom amenities are nice and the beds are very comfortable.
Disliked: The fridge in the room is one of the worst I've ever seen in a hotel: frozen through and leaking onto the floor, in two different rooms! The fridge is also not built to actually hold the guests' food/drink items; it exists to sell the hotel's drinks, which feels like a cheap upsell. The TV stopped working correctly for a couple hours Saturday night: Chromecast did not work and no TV channels were available. The "heated pool" was not heated. The housekeeping staff did not return items we had left in our first room.It also feels like a cheap, sneaky upsell that the hotel sells day passes to the pool in addition to charging every guest a fee for the pool. On Saturday, these non-hotel guests took up chairs that could have been used by hotel guests.
