Very disappointing. From sleepless nights...

Liked: The interiors of the Thompson Hollywood were stylish, modern and clean. The showers were large with fantastic water pressure
Disliked: The Thompson Hollywood advertises Bar Lis on its rooftop as a cocktail bar and lounge. This is grossly misleading. For anyone considering a stay here have a look at Bar Lis’ Instagram page for Thursday - Saturday nights and decide for yourself if this matches us with the advertised Cocktail Bar and Lounge. It is a nightclub with a DJ that you will hear at sleepless volumn from 10pm through to the early hours of the morning. On the Friday night we stayed, despite being advertised to close at midnight the noise stopped at closer to 3am. It was unbearable level of noise and vibration through the room, and a disgrace that it is not disclosed honestly by the hotel.

Disliked: Staff attitude and lack of any information about the city.

Liked: Great location and happy with the price . Lovely hotel with friendly vibe. Rooftop pool and breakfasts with view of hollywood sign and cinerama dome. Found a problem with the toilet when we first landed, but staff sorted it quickly and with no fuss. Happily recommend it.
Disliked: Found a broken toilet when we landed, but staff moved us to the new room within an hour. Airline was a little loud but fine when switched off.

Liked: Clean & aesthetically pleasing hotel.
Disliked: I was charged for my room + $300 for a deposit upon check in which was fine, then they charged another $273 by mistake on their behalf. I accepted because it was going to be returned to me after my stay which it was. THEN 2 days after I checked out, I was charged for the room + $300 AGAIN. When I called they were extremely rude and kept telling me it would be returned within 15 business days. Where I’m from, credit cards aren’t really a thing so I don’t have one so that money is gone out of my bank account until returned to me. Money I planned on spending on my vacation that I then couldn’t. So, it’s the start of my vacation and I have to wait 15 days for $928 to be returned to me because of their mistake? Not even an apology. Oh and just a heads up, valet parking is $50 a night which is fine but the valet staff are so rude if you don’t tip every time you get your car, I mean point blank ignore you and make faces to each other.

Nice rooms, location a little...

Liked: It is a lovely hotel, room was spacious and clean. We had a view of the Hollywood sign.
Disliked: The noise from the rooftop bar. There is no mention of the noise on the website or booking.com. The bar has a DJ and the music plays until 2am. Then you have people coming down the corridors drunk banging doors for a while.
