Thomas Arms Hotel

The location in the town is in need of investment, it appears that the investment has gone to the out-of-town shopping malls, but the hotel is great with very friendly staff.

Liked: Newly refurbished. Excellent location for visiting family. Friendly
Disliked: Problem with plumbing. For two nights the hotel closed early (no bar or restaurant.). Also no staff or night porter at hotel overnight which was worrying. Hopefully these are all teething problems

Liked: Very nice and relaxing staff were so nice rooms perfect cant find anything wrong with the place will stay there again

Liked: The room was dirty with multiple stains on the carpet, the bathroom door was not attached correctly at the bottom hinge, the bedside light was hanging off of the wall with an electrical fault. The " family room" was directly above the bar with music banging until 11 at night. The full length mirror was off the wall and propped up against it. The bathroom light was so dim you have to use your phone light to see anything,. The toilet roll holder is missing off of the wall the shelf over the sink is missing but the brackets are still there, the hook on the bathroom door is missing. The windos were all closed yet the draft that was coming through kept me awake. The roo. Was that bad that at 3.30 am I booked somewhere else to stay for the remainder of our visit.The Manager promised a full refund and told me the room was "priced accordingly " as they were yet to renovate it... no mention of this when booking, she also told me that the room was now out of use due to the issues raised. And that future family rooms were not above the bar.. THEY HAVE NOT REFUNDED A SINGLE PENNY.

Liked: Nik was fantastic with attention to detail and committed to excellent customer service.- there was a booking problem with booking.com and he corrected the error on my part- room service for cold drinks and no additional fees- very clean
Disliked: - i would have given it a 10 but for the road noise being next to a busy road traffic starts at 7am and it woke me up- very comfortable bed but not sure if the window has double glazing and if not needs to ge considered as that would give the hotel 10/10
