The location in the town is in need of investment, it appears that the investment has gone to the out-of-town shopping malls, but the hotel is great with very friendly staff.

Liked: Whole feeling of the place was great - staff were lovely and friendly, location was within walking distance of town and the beds were comfortable, rooms were also spacious (we stayed 5 nights). Sunday carvery was amazing for a family meal and breakfast was good too. I think we got discount food as we were staying there, and meals were really good value as a result. We had our three grown up boys with us too - and it was really comfortable to go and catch up int e bar area, play pool or darts etc.... Right next door is a Jenkins bakery (amazing vanilla slices) and also a barber shop - handy for a quick haircut. Would definitely stay there again.
Disliked: No shampoo or conditioner in the shower!! we had to go out and buy some. No fridge in the room - just a small one to keep milk for tea and coffee would have been great. The rooms were dated in fixtures and fittings, and minor work would fix things like broken lamps.

Disliked: Tired bedroom room and bathroom, needs redecorated and bathroom fittings( toilet roll holder etc) need put back on wall etc Lost my washing bag were thrown out as cleaner thought we only staying one night, clothes were put in a downstairs lost property room for us to find them and sort. Not good
