Patricia, London, visiting London Coliseum Sun, 31 December 2023

The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. Right in the heart of the West End, around the corner from Trafalgar Square, with plenty of tourist attractions within walking distance.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: The breakfast was a little disappointing.

Liked: Excellent service by Doloresz/ Andres and Liz. Truly appreciated the personal touch given that this was a very stressful work trip. Doloresz kept me in good supply of shortbread biscuits and even a banana when I needed to stay awake to work until 4 am.
Disliked: I could not figure out how to heat the room and I was a bit coldThe room was a bit pricey

Variable hospitality from different staff

Liked: Location and space in the junior suite rooms
Disliked: No Mini-bar as advertised. This might seem a small problem to some, but a mini-bar to others means a fridge for storing life-needing daily injections. There is a great variation of service and general hospitality depending on which staff you interact with. As previous reviews have said, the day desk staff are mostly abrupt, unhelpful and ‘police’ guests rather than assist them. But the breakfast staff are delightful, particularly Cyril and Madina, both at Trafalgar sq and Piccadilly properties. In the evening, Kim offers the widest grins and chats with food and drinks and has for the many times we’ve stayed there. We’ll be back because of the location and the mid-range nature of this chain, but we’ll be prepared to avoid requesting anything or any information from the day staff where possible.

A wonderful week with shopping...

Liked: The hotel is very close to both Trafalgar and Leicester Square. Consequently, top locations like the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery are just a short work. Westminster Abbey can be reached by foot within 10 to 15 minutes. At least three different underground stations are close by. If you like shopping: major shopping areas are in walking distance too.Our room was nice and quiet although being in a busy area. The bathroom was of sufficient space and the air condition very quiet. The breakfast buffet was quite nice (for a British hotel) and we enjoyed the very good service of Medina and her team while having breakfast.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet no longer provides for hash browns (as was the case when being 18 month earlier in this hotel). Except for this minor detail, we had no matter to complain about.

Liked: The staff at the reception desk were helpful. It's very well located, just a stone's throw from Leicester Square and the National Gallery. It's not noisy, although it's not completely quiet.
Disliked: It was very hot in the room even though it was only the end of May and the temperature outside was no higher than 20 degrees. We could barely open the window. The air conditioning did not cool the room. The room was not very clean. It did not smell very good in the hotel lobby. The carpets were old and looked dirty.

Liked: The location is great, for both Buckingham Palace and the theatre district
Disliked: It's an older building but well kept up. The staff was young, and not real efficient. The toilet overflowed the second day, and this lead to a huge fiasco.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Karina Thu, 5 June 2025

A complete disappointment

Liked: Some front desk people were friendly
Disliked: Facilities, attitude of front desk personnel. Some were standing around eating, some hugging each other, not paying attention to waiting guests. Arrived at noon, wasn't able to check in until 3:30 due to housekeeping. No tissues in room, ironing board left out and fell on me, door handles broken, curtains broken and would not close, lamp left on floor, gummy sections left in closet top, no vent in bathroom and door automatically shut, breakfast area tiny for number of rooms in hotel, no instructions or even piece of paper in room, and no instructions of any kind from front staff. Hardly merited a 3 star rating.
