Won’t be staying here again
Liked: The property is dated and not fit to operate as a hotel in to day’s environment. Rooms are small and lack many amenities that are standard in today’s hotels. You couldn’t turn round in the bathrooms. Also late at night it felt as though you were in a motorcycle race track. There is one small lift that struggles to fit 2 adults with their luggage and it does not go to the top floor (7). When we stayed it also did not stop on the 5th floor, which just happened to be our floor. By the look of tape this was not a recent fault. Finally the lift broke down on the Saturday and was not fixed by the time we left on the Sunday afternoon.
Disliked: To be fair the small number staff we interacted with were fine.

Need aircon!!
Liked: Clean hotel, friendly staff. Spacious room, nice shower. Great location for theatres.
Disliked: We stayed on a very hot weekend and one small fan. Windows didn’t open more than an inch and no air con. It was incredibly uncomfortable, we couldn’t sleep. We asked for ice from reception to try and cool ourselves down. Surprised that there was no aircon considering the cost of the hotel. Premier inn for example have aircon and it wouldn’t been cheaper to stay in one of them. Huge variety at breakfast but the cooked food wasn’t very nice. Eggs were really wet and soggy, bacon was very hard and fried eggs were solid.

Superb
Liked: The breakfast was really good , the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable we got a good night's sleep.
Disliked: No air-con in our room, for the price we paid per night l would have expected it. Also the view from the window was the worst.

Ok for a couple of...
Liked: Location reasonable, room ok, clean. Bed small for a single and uncomfortable. Shower also an experience.
Disliked: Shower curtain too short and shower tray filled quickly, drainage a bit poor.

Very hot!!
Liked: Spent 1 night only, great location, within walking distance from what we needed (23min walking from King's Cross). Lots of cafés and restaurants in close proximity.Breakfast was reasonable. Quick check in/check out process. We've been offered an extended check out time, and complimentary chocolates in the room. Kettle and coffee/tea/milk/sugar available in the room. Also equipped with hairdryer (not used), ironing board, seif, towels, and strictly necessary toiletries. Just a note that the shower cabin is quite narrow so might not be suitable for everyone.
Disliked: TOO HOT!!! Absolutely boiling in the room, as the hotel is not equipped with AC, during one of UK's rare heatwaves. We have read several similar reviews prior to booking, however it was still unexpectedly hot (30° in the room at night). There was a fan available, however this was just rolling the hot air inside the room. The windows can only be opened enough to stick your fingers in between, so unable to use the outside air for a proper ventilation over the night at least.Room overseeing the street so quite noisy in the early hours of the morning. Size of the room reasonable for a short stay, but the double bed very small. The lift was functional, however not working on level 5 - we have been advised to either go to level 4 or 6, then use the stairs. At the check out, the kind receptionist has let us know that the hotel is in the process of investing in an AC system
