The Swan Hotel is an 18th-century hotel located in the center of Alresford just 15 minutes drive from Winchester. It has a bar 2 restaurant areas and a lounge with free parking located at the rear of the hotel The bedrooms all have tea/coffee making facilities a flat-screen TV hairdryer with some rooms offering free Wi-Fi. One room is wheelchair friendly with twin beds and a wet room. The Watercress Room and the Dining Room are open 7 days per week from 07:30 offering breakfast lunch and dinner for both residents and non residents. Guests are welcome to relax in the Cozy after dinner with a drink or a coffee. Alresford is well known for its Georgian architecture with riverside walks alongside the River Arle. The Watercress Steam Railway is one minute's walk from the hotel.

A convenient hotel with delicious...

Liked: Great location being in the Main Street in Arlesford. Great breakfast with a nice fresh buffet then a choice from their cooked menu. Comfy bed. Nice Border biscuits in the tea tray!
Disliked: Floor board raised in the room which let to a stubbed toe. I did advise staff so hopefully that will be addressed. Room was hot, fan provided but didn’t do much on a hot sunny evening. Shower didn’t have much pressure.

Liked: Extremely comfortable and peaceful room, very clean and even smelt clean when you walked in
Disliked: Didn’t feel staff were very friendly or welcoming ( at check in/out or breakfast

A lovely mid week break.

Liked: Visited the lovely town of Alresford to attend the VE day celebrations being organised by the Watercress Line heritage railway. Upon arrival at the Swan we were in informed that our room had been upgraded to one of the self contained apartments, this was a lovely surprise and much appreciated, thank you.The apartment was well equipped, clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for the two of us, we slept very well.I enjoyed a few pints in the well stocked bar ( I recommend the Flower Potts ale), it is brewed locally and tastes very nice.The full English Breakfast was tasty and substantial, there are plenty of choices on the breakfast menu but i always go for the full english. The food menu in the bar is comprehensive and reasonably priced, there is something for everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful, I have stayed at the Swan on a number of occasions over the years and it never fails to deliver, thank you.
Disliked: Everything was great, no complaints.
