A justifiably famous historic hotel.
Liked: Its character, decor and location. The Diamond Belle Bar served very good food and the live musician was polished and very entertaining.
Disliked: There was no coffee machine or kettle in the room, although it was provided in the lobby in the mornings.

Quaint
Liked: Location, quaint victoriana, clean room with lots of facilities. Comfy bed.
Disliked: Very thin walls neighbours were parting hard. No tea/coffee maker in room. Lots of steps.

Historic gem
Liked: Great historic gem in the center of Durango. Our room was in the back and quiet. Would have really liked to stay in the more historic part but that means spending more. We might splurge next time. Really a lovely place.
Disliked: Service in the saloon took longer than we would have liked after driving most of the day (and what a lovely drive we had) and they only had two servers (plus the bar staff). You'll be served quicker sitting at the bar.

Nice hotel but tiny room
Liked: This is an old, historic and quirky hotel. We loved looking at all of the old pictures of Durango and learning about its history. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. What we experienced of the public areas was all good.
Disliked: I booked the only available room months in advance but I was wasn’t expecting it to be so small! It was tiny and there is no tea or coffee making facilities or fridge. Whilst realistically there would be no space for a fridge, a tea/coffee maker would be a nice touch.
