The Station Hotel

Very good

Liked: Perfect location to stay when travelling the NC 500, off-road secure parking I had a single room, which was clean and perfect for my stay. The single bed was comfortable. The restaurant served a cooked breakfast, which set me up for the day. The staff were very polite.
Disliked: I was placed in the annexe, which is located opposite the hotel, (it does have parking at the rear of the Annexe which is a positive), however the room faces the main road looking over onto the main road and looking straight across into the main hotel. The bay window only has a fitted curtain, which just closes. It would be a suggestion to have fitted blinds to avoid not being overlooked rather than closing the curtains as you enter the room for that extra privacy. My room was only issued with one towel, which was a hand towel!!!, on speaking with the staff who were very apologetic, said the would would sort the issue out for me, i was given a further 3 hand towels.( if I had my sowing kit I would have sown the towels together to make a bath towel). Apart from these little issues, I would happily stay there again.

Disliked: Tiny double room! Should be priced lower and described more honestly. Some of the photos for this room were of a much larger room. It was too warm, the window only opened 2cm and the fan unit was too noisy for sleep. 'Seating area' is single chair at a desk. Bed uncomfortable, springs felt. Not the restful stopover we wanted on our journey.

Short stay but very sweet!

Liked: We stayed in the annexe which is directly opposite The Station. Absolutely stunning! The room was beautifully decorated and spotless as was the shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room also. Time for breakfast which was served in the hotel itself, so a quick nip across the road and we were greeted with lovely smiles and great service. We all chose the full Scottish breakfast and my word, it was huge! Delicious and filling which set us up for the day. I highly recommend a stay in this warm, welcoming highland hotel where nothing is too much trouble.
