Hotel Description
The Star and Garter is set in the heart of the market town of Andover. The hotel dates back to the 1700s and offers a hot and cold buffet breakfast and free WiFi. The hotel maintains its Georgian façade and rooms are set in the former stables and coach house encircling the courtyard as well as over two floors in the main building. Each room has private bathroom facilities with a power shower bath and complimentary toiletries. There is a flat-screen TV hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities in all rooms. There are alcoholic beverages and soft drinks available which can be enjoyed in our enclosed courtyard. This Hampshire town lies around 20 miles north of the beautiful New Forest National Park. Newbury Basingstoke and the pretty cathedral city of Salisbury and Winchester can all be reached within 30 minutes' drive. Stonehenge is within a 20-minute drive. Free parking is provided at the rear of the hotel.

Served the purpose.

Liked: Attractive decor.Good breakfast.

Location, location - central Andover...

Liked: Regular user of this hotel for work purposes. It’s all about location, central Andover, easy access to the A303. Good choice at breakfast.

Few days stay at The...

Liked: Central location, very friendly and helpful staff.Bedrooms spacious and clean.
Disliked: Rooms were very warm, even with the windows open. A/C unit very loud, although it did cool the room.

Liked: THE LOCATION IS DREADFUL THE NOISE FROM OUTSIDE WAS DREADFUL.THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE AND THEY TRIED TO HELP.

The hotel was good for...

Liked: The location was really good, and easy to drive to. Breakfast was also good, plenty to choose from. Free parking was a bonus also.
Disliked: There was one issue how ever, the shower did not have an anti slip mat in so when you got in to the shower, you climbed over the bath into it, the bath was wet causing me to slip over and bang me knee against the side of the bath causing my knee to be badly bruised and swollen up.
