"Greene King! Spend some money...
Liked: The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The Spyglass and Kettle is a very popular pub with rooms. The food was good, but because of how busy they were with the general public, we found sometimes they had run out of what we wanted to eat or drink. They had a music night which was nice and it did not affect us when we went to our room. Our room (2) was very clean and the bed was comfortable, but it was a small double.
Disliked: The Spyglass and Kettle is a lovely old building but it needs a lot of work. It is looking very tired. Missing or slipped roof tiles, damp patches in our room above the tea/coffee area.This property is not suitable for anybody who cannot climb stairs.

Stay somewhere else
Liked: All very dated. Room wasn’t very clean
Disliked: Had a function on until late and didn’t notify anyone on booking. Also no parking available

We will NEVER book that...
Liked: The staff at the pub was friendly.
Disliked: The bathroom had mould.There are no bedside lamps, & no switch from the bed to switch off the main light.There were no drawers or shelves to put store clothing, only a very few hangers.There were no room in the bathroom to hang towels or lay out toiletries.There were holes in the ceiling above the shower.The bedside tables were dirty & sticky. The surface had been dusted but nothing else.I felt like crying & refused to stay there for even one night.We will NEVER book that venue again.

Disliked: No aircon which we did know about but rooms were 28 degrees even with fan as windows that open were just fan lights and small, made uncimfortabl3 stayHotel very dog friendly Parking is a nightmare no space so drive around for ages ..put us off taking the car out for the day, parking should be allocated to guests staying not pub visitors

We had an enjoyable short...
Liked: We liked the atmosphere of the place and its quiet location. The staff were very friendly. The tea and coffee facility was appreciated and the bed was comfortable. Although there were roads on both sides we didn’t hear the traffic.
Disliked: The room was cramped for space owing gable ends roof. The bathroom quite seriously affected for the same reason. The mirror above the wash basin was far too low to be useful - had to bend to get your face on the mirror. The shower was narrow and we didn’t like the single option of an overhead shower. The soap was so high I couldn’t reach it.
